When I did mine I scoured the internet and found 0Ga 600strand wire in red and black for a good price...well comparatively good. SUPER high quality stuff for about half what it cost locally.
You can find good deals.

Re: 1993 MX3 heating issues
FYI...replacing the heater core is the number one, top of the list, worst job in the whole car. The entire HVAC console has to come out.

Helicoil is a better idea. If you go from M8x1.25 to M10x1.25 the bolt won't pass through the tensioner anymore....then you're modifying the tensioner...

Re: Battery Relocation
Several 80's Audis and Saabs also have the battery under the rear seat. They would also have a good quality battery cable worth scavenging.

Re: 1993 MX3 heating issues
you should both start with a thorough flush. There are systems you can buy to do this yourself but it's a lot tidier if you take it to a minit lube or someplace like that and it's worth the money. Ask them to pressure test the system while they're at it and they will. That way you'll know it's clean...

Re: Charlie's no budget mid engine build: *Codename:BlakBish
That is an interesting idea. Honda did an experimental Inline 4 cylinder bike back in the 90's with the intake in front and the exhaust ports coming out the back for the same reason. I am planning on doing a custom intake manifold for the LS3 so that I can reposition the throttle body at the back of...

Re: need exhaust system, low on money
thanks guys. does the modifying to the header just mean plugging a hole for the EGR valve??? cause if 2 headers and a downpipe come together, my only thought was that the downpipe length would be different. The EGR hole can be plugged with a threaded plug. In my case, I'm not sure if it was the bra...

Re: VAF to MAF Conversion??
That is a very good idea. This is one of the things that always made me want to run the Megasquirt. I just want to use the Barro sensor and do away with the VAF altogether. In thinking about this over the long years since it occured to me that the whole "Mass of air hitting the cone...blah blah...

Re: ecu qestion on klde swap
Do you already have the DE engine in your MX-3? Would the Xedos ECU plug into the MX-3 harness? What connectors on the MX-3 harness don't match the Xedos engine? The engines are nearly identical mechanically so for the most part the sensors are very similar. If you put the MX-3 distributor and VAF o...

I have seen the Splinter. I didn't study it, but I saw a show about it on tv last year about the team that built it. Cool concept but I couldn't help but think how heavy it would be. Updates are due. I have been working on perfecting the rear subframe. Making sure there are no interferences etc. The...

Re: VAF to MAF Conversion??
Thanks, I have spent more hours in a post secondary classroom than anyone should in a lifetime. My head is filled with so many cool ideas every time I get a new idea an old one is forced out. Mostly I think about manufacturing techniques these days. My focus is almost exclusively on a design project...

Re: VAF to MAF Conversion??
I have actually thought about this thread more than once in the years since we had this discussion. I wondered when it woul dcome up again. You are absolutley right Eric and reading it again I recognise that I was a bit too loose with the term vacuum. the VAF isn't being sucked open from the negativ...
