Re: I need a "PRECIDIA" sticker for my hatch!
Heheheheh... my Precidia sticker wore out so that it just said "recid"... pronounced by my GM-loving buddy as "wretched".
I just removed it. I like that extra bit of visibility thru the decklid. The American MX-3's don't have it to begin with, right?
------------------
<A HREF="http://www ...

Re: Why bigger wheels?
For some weird reason, I was inspired to put 205/60R14 on the back of my MX-3. The front has the standard 185/65R14.
Now the car has this nice, meaty, American stance.
205/60R14 is a tough size to find though. Manufacturers only carry it on certain lines. I had to specially order them.
<P ...

Re: shifting
Has anyone else noticed the unusual delay when going from a forward mode into reverse?
I've noticed this with my MX-3, the 2000 626 I rented, and my father-in-law's MPV.
------------------
¡¡LISTEN TO MY MUSIC!!

Re: shifting
My `93 1.6L auto does the same thing. I also drove a 2000 626LX which also had a rough 1st to 2nd shift.
According to my Mazda dealer, this is a known issue with the automatic transmissions when mated to their 4-cyl engines. They usually wind up replacing the transmission.
Word on the street is ...

Re: Tune Up Cost???
If you can do-it-yourself, it's a good idea. I didn't have time so I left it in the shop while I was out of town. It came to $400CDN ($260USD) when it was all said and done.
------------------
¡¡LISTEN TO MY MUSIC!!

Re: What is the best way to get my car to 90 Mph.
I have an SOHC 1.6L with the auto.
I've used the HOLD button on the highway to kick the tranny down into 3rd when climing and passing.... sometimes getting to speeds as high as 140km/h (85 mph). I didn't know that it could screw up the transmission but my tranny seems fine after 3 years of doing ...

Re: wasting gas
I have a `93 MX-3 automatic with the 1.6L SOHC. It was eating a bit too much gas so I sent it in for a major tune-up and things were back to normal. I'm a leadfoot so I probably get less-than-average mileage.
To check your fuel consumption, use the trip odometer to record the distance you can ...

Re: WHY MX-3's are so OVERLOOKED!!!
In the past little while, I've been to Las Vegas, Minneapolis and Calgary (Canada) and saw very few MX-3's around.
I live in Winnipeg and there are tons of them... all different colours... alot of them are modded. Mine is a stock red `93 MX-3 with the SOHC 1.6L and a 4-speed auto.
I don't see ...

Re: Gas Mileage
I have a 1993 MX-3 with the 1.6 SOHC.
I used the "Gumout" Fuel Injector cleaner with a full tank of gas and drove from Minneapolis to Grand Forks without stopping (about 450km) at an average speed of 130km/h (average engine speed of 3200RPM). Good way to run that s--- through your fuel system.
I ...

Re: 215/60R-14 ...too big?
WHY??
I have the stock 14" rims on the car and the 185/65R14 tires look like shopping cart wheels. I'm not interesting in putting rims or dropping the suspension or any of that gay stuff... I just wanted tires that were a bit wider without having to pony up for new rims. 195/60R14 didn't ...

215/60R-14 ...too big?
I'm getting 215/60R-14 for the rear of my 1993 MX-3 SOHC. Will they clear?
Thanks in advance.
------------------
¡¡LISTEN TO MY MUSIC!!
