I had this happen to me too. My mechanic suggested it was the synchros in the transmission. I had the transmission pulled and rebuilt. But about 1.5 to 2 years later, the same thing started and now I think I just totalled my 2nd gear. I talked to my mechanic and he said that I might have to replace ...

Re: Clutch slipping....
I had my clutch begin slipping and it didn't take long before power was gone and it just reved like crazy. Its definitely not your flywheel. It takes roughly 3 hours for a mechanic to get to the clutch,... make sure you get your flywheel re-surfaced.. it should come back like a mirror. Otherwise ...

Re: rim care
Ask for 'Autosol', it works really well as getting brake dust off the rims.

Re: K&N Air Filter
We're talking about the air filter, nothing to do with air blowing inside the car. The engine sucks air in which must go through the air filter to prevent crap from getting into your engine.
Jarod

K&N Air Filter
Hey guys, just wanted to tell you that I bought a K&N Air filter (not the cold air), and it makes all the difference. The car has more pep, and you can tell more air is getting to the engine. For $75can, it was well worth it. In my opinion, the air box on the mx-3 is setup in a good way, it just ...

Adjustable Cam Gears
Anybody know if they make these adjustable cam gears for the 1.6L mx-3?
They say that they give like 5-10HP boost because it brings your timing to the exact requirement for optimal performance.

Re: 17' Rims
I really see no physical explanation as to why he would think aftermarket rims would be bad for a car.
The only thing i see is that the wheel diameter might change, so the speedo might be off, but bigger wheels should give you more rubber-pavement contact, and better traction.

Re: CLUTCH SLIPPING...HELP ME!!!
In reference to getting the flywheel resurfaced:
if there are nicks and scratches on the flywheel, they can cause premature wear on the clutch,
i had mine done and it comes back like a mirror, so spend the extra money and have it done.

Re: CLUTCH SLIPPING...HELP ME!!!
The clutch is gone for sure and there is nothing you can do about it.
Your best bet is to get an ACT clutch if you're going to drive your car hard.
You're looking upwards around $900can to buy it and get a shop to put it in. Don't forget to get the flywheel resurfaced, otherwise you'll need ...
