Re: Brake light when spinning tires???
Sorry about your luck with mx-3's. They are great cars, but you have to take care of it just like any other car. Sounds like you've bought a beater, and that's just what you have-a beater. Don't expect to have a nice daily driver if you buy a beater from someone who has used it, never changed fluid...

Re: Brake light when spinning tires???
sorry that I haven't gotten back sooner. started having problems on both rears. pretty sure it's the soft lines. I went to replace the rear pads and start trying to diagnose the problem. I was unable to compress the caliper (i know. turn them in, not press in like on domestics). then I had the brigh...

Re: Brake light when spinning tires???
e-brake seems to be working fine, but i do have a problem with the rear driver caliper. i think the soft line might be collapsing, because i had to step on the brake pretty hard one day, and my rotor turned a real pretty damn near see-through orange. and so did the pad. LOL haven't had a chance to f...

Brake light when spinning tires???
92 mx3, non-abs, 1.8L.
noticed recently that if i gun it off the line and end up spinning the tires, that the Brake light on the dash comes on. it goes off again after a few seconds, but why on earth would spinning tires cause the brake light come on???

steering wheel shake at 70mph
ok. up to 60mph we're good. get to about 70mph+ and the steering wheel (ONLY the steering wheel) starts to shake quite bad. NOW.....i let off the throttle quickly, and the shakes get VERY BAD. NEW passenger wheel bearing passenger ball joint driver/passenger cv I replaced them based on a "visua...

Tear it down... Keep at a bear minimum the valvetrain. I'd say part it out, you may help someone out, and put a little money in your pocket for other projects/repairs. :welder: That's one of the ideas I was playing with The problem with it is its not 100% aluminum so all I can ever get for them is ...

Re: broken coolant filler neck. *FOUND ONE*
Without impact wrench the best trick is to use the starter. 1. Put socket and long extension on crank bolt 2. Arrange extension bar so it is resting on the ground or against lower control arm (suspension). Basically so it can't move when the starter tries to spin the crank pulley clockwise. 3. Disc...

Re: led bulbs
Not sure if this will help at all since I don't know these cars that well, but maybe you can get some ideas from my experience of another vehicle. On my motorcycle, the wiring for my turn signals and hazards actually goes through my dash light indicators somehow. Your vehicle and electronics are des...

Re: broken coolant filler neck. *FOUND ONE*
stopped the clock at 1:45 and went to eat lunch. got everything off but can't get the crank pulley bolt out. wish I still had my old impact (burglary. lost roughly $30,000 worth of tools). I can do more damage by hand then this impact does. So I think i'm gonna eat lunch and watch a few minute of ne...

Re: broken coolant filler neck. *FOUND ONE*
going to start taking apart my car now to replace that neck. Wish me luck. book time to replace a water pump on this car is 4.6hours. I'm not doing a water pump, but i do have to take off a few extra pieces to get the rear cover off to get to the filler. Let's call it an even 5hours. Let's see how l...

Re: 92 1.8L parts identification and locating help please
Oh....forgot to update last night that I found and fixed/replaced the drain tube. it was actually broken and separated a couple inches down from the sunroof. I found it behind the A-pillar and traced it up and down from there. At the bottom, the hose was also kinked. so I went to the parts store, bu...

motor seems to be seized up. with the timing belt off, I can't turn the crank, or the rear cam. but the front cam turns.
But I got the filler neck that I wanted off of it.
