so unplugged the O2 sensor and it ran the same.
it has been raining so I havent had time to really look at anything else.
How much would it be for a new dist from you superK?

I have a disty if you need one. Here's an easy diagnostic tip: My DOHC did the same thing yours did... not to your extent. I had a bad O2 sensor. It didn't throw a code either. Try unplugging the O2 and see if it reacts the same. If it doesn't bog, there's your problem. Make SURE you get a Denso O2...

I don't quite understand what you're saying. on all cylinders they stop firing/fire incorrectly at that range? What two plugs on the disty that aren't plug wires? Maybe you do need a new distributor, since you already did cap and rotor :shrug: This is the DOHC 1.6? I'm sure someone has a dist lying...

interesting find...it may or may not have any bearing but I dont have the know-how to interpret what it means. I took a timing light hooked it up to plug 1: at idle it is firing nicely. when revved up, it speeds up, as expected BUT at the 1.5-2k RPM it stops firing, or fires 1-2 times for ever half ...

dont know about the link he shared but, i have had luck looking for parts for my old honda (1986) and always see tons of mx-3's in the yard as im walking around. try looking at local pick and pulls. there are some great parts out there wasting away

yes the plug wires are on correctly, we changed the plugs and wires etc after this problem was already here. I can only assume that they are on correctly, since the problem didnt get any better or worse with the change out. we followed the manual as well as the numbers on the dist cap. they all seem...
