Re: No More Illegal Street Racing Topics

I agree 100% with Jeff. I am new to this site but I have been with Probetalk for quite a while and I know that Probetalk would be a better site if the Kill Forum were deleted. All you see in there is topics like "Beat an MGT tonight" or "Toasted an Si". YOu know they are mostly B...

Re: need more horsepower

You can turbo or sc the ZE if you want to run less than 7 psi. Im sure thats pretty safe for them. I think Darin Pemberton on Probetalk is running like 8 psi on a KL03. <P>Hey man if you want more power, a good ZEX nitrous kit will give you more than enough, just be careful. You already have a lot o...

Re: Nitrous Oxide Limits

well it may be a bad a-- car and all, but the steering still sucks. I dont like to have that little steering feel. My last car was a 94 Probe GT and we all know how well those handle. But i will admit that if i can get the steering tightened up a bit and some sway bars i may try to autocross, it see...

Re: Oil consumption

check the valve cover gaskets, they wont always leak bad outside, sometimes your engine will misfire and you just changed your plugs/wires like 5k ago. so you take the plugs out and they are coated in oil, thats the most common symptom of a bad vcg. Also check the rear of your engine down on the blo...

Re: Need a few tips on take off

On the R/T Ive noticed that if I take it up to 6500, let the revs drop to around 3000 and pop the clutch up halfway and slip it the rest of the way I can get some really nice launches, then i barely move my feet for the 1-2, just enough to shift without grinding them gears. Then the 2-3 I pretty muc...

Re: Nitrous Oxide Limits

You actually fear the R/T in the autocross? Boy, theyd really have to do some hardening the steering up for my tastes. I feel like its a bit numb, Decent steering response, but it just doesnt have the reflexes that i want. But i will agree that it takes a lot to make the tires lose grip. That and it...

Re: Nitrous Oxide Limits

Ive been searching the net all day and havent come up with any commercially available kits for the Neon. There are quite a few for the cruiser which utilizes most of the Neon for its frame/drivetrain, but none for the Neon. I would imagine that since the Neon and PT have the same engine that the kit...

Re: Nitrous Oxide Limits

excellent point, maybe I should rephrase. I wouldnt put more than a 75 shot thru it no matter what system you use. I most liekly wouldnt use nitrous at all anyways. I am trying to find a decent SC system now for the Neon, but to no avail. Maybe ill have to get a PT Cruiser system and modify it a bit.

Re: Nitrous Oxide Limits

The O3 can handle a little more boost than the ZE, due to the ZE's higher compression. I still wouldnt put more than 75 shot dry to either one, but I would feel a bit better about it on the O3. Dunno about this K8.

Re: Getting quite a bit of work done today...

Well the new manifold gasket comes in next week and the new plugs and wires should be here tomorrow. Whew I wish we had an open track around here to see what she'll do. It already feels like its got an extra 20 hp on tap.

Getting quite a bit of work done today...

Well the ol Neon went into the shop yesterday to fix a notorious problem. I first noticed that I had an exhaust leak about 3 months ago, and I finally got enough money to go get it fixed. Thats not the problem though. Turns out it wasnt an exhaust leak after all, it was a compression leak from a cra...
