Re: rear defrost problems
Jen, I e-mailed you a zip file with the schematic and a bunch of other stuff. (I couldn't post the pics as they would need to be on a website, and I don't have one)
Hope it helps,
Drej

Re: rear defrost problems
This may be of help:
<from Alldata> <The rear defroster may not operate and the relay and/or connector may be damaged. The damage is caused by vibration at the connector and relay while driving. The vibration increases contact resistance and generates heat in the connector. In some cases, rear def...

Re: Car shakes @ ~90kph
Hey boosted,
Wouldn't that show up when they did the high speed balancing? Besides, they put new tires in the front and left the two good ones on the rear. (The old ones were rebalanced)
Drej

Re: Car shakes @ ~90kph
Well, these are new tires which replaced old tires and nothing changed. The only idea in that respect was to take it to another shop for balancing, as maybe the balancing machine is screwed up at the tire shop I go to.
As for the warped disk, I replaced both rotors with new ones not to long ago an...

Re: Car shakes @ ~90kph
I haven't tried any other rims, but all the wheels were high speed balanced when the new tires were put on last week.
I talked to a Mazda mechanic the other day and he said that it may be a loose or faulty ball joint or something, so I will lift the car and take a look. If I don't find anything I ...

Re: Car shakes @ ~90kph
That's a good thought. I have been debating it for a while now as I would really like this shaking problem solved without spending too much more cash. But since the car has 170k on it now, I think getting new shocks are in its future regardless of it fixxing the shake. If there's any other ideas, le...

Car shakes @ ~90kph
The problem: An oscillation can be heard at slower speeds (~50kph) and a violent shake of the steering wheel ensues at ~90kph. Not only that, the whole car seems to have the shake.
Solutions tried: I have replaced the passenger side drive shaft (complete) with a rebuilt. Replaced drivers side 3 ti...

Re: is everybodies engine kind of loud @ idle?
It sounds like you have a lifer sticking. I had the same problem with one of the exhaust lifters and it went away after I replaced it. I picked it up at Mazda for $50 or $60 CDN. I'm sure you can get it for somewhere close to that.
Also, to locate the faulty lifter, give each suspect a light sque...

Re: almost stalls when i engage the clutch
I replaced the alternator/water pump belt recently. I was experiencing an increase in the idle speed after coming to a stop which would stabalize after a few seconds. I fixxed the problem by tightening up the belt more as it turned out to be a bit loose.
Maybe this is another area to look at as y...

Re: Rebuild engine before adding nitrous?
It realy depends on how your engine is worn. I put a NOS kit on my '96 which had 140K and ended up burning and chipping a valve. Now this happened due to a combination of failures - not just the nitrous. I had a lifter on the exhaust get stuck which kept the valve from sealing well. In addition, due...

Re: Timing belt
If you do it yourselt as I did - about $120 CDN.
If you want to have a mechanic do it... I would guess $300 - 400 CDN.

Re: question about intake hose
The vacume hose you are refering too does run to the egr valve and its function is to equalize the pressure with the atmosphere. (I am assuming that this happens when you turn the engine off)
I would recommend either drilling a hole into the rear of your new intake and mounting it there or making...

Re: am i the only 96???
Lordco - my local parts store doesn't list some parts for the '96 but so far everytime I use a '95 part it works just fine
I've done a cylinder head rebuild (minus the cams), timing belt, both accessory belts, and a I put in a new clutch. It all worked out.

Re: hwo bad is nos for your engine?
I noticed that when running N2O on my MX-3 it is best to launch without being at WOT as there is no traction otherwise. I mean, I break the wheels free again when I get to 4K in second, so to launch with the nitrous on makes no sense. (I run 205 50R15 so they get decent sticking power normally.)

Re: Poll: Do you think using NOS is cheating
It isn;t free too refill - yes. However the the money you save by going with N2O rather then turbo or SC is enought to refill your bottle more then a few dozen times!
Not to mention - you ware your engine out faster by adding more hp. So by running N2O only when you need/want it you effectively p...
