Shimming the slave master cylinder and a SS clutch line should alleviate the constant engagement issue. Do a search on disengagement problems for ACT clutches on this board - there should be more than a few posts about how to do this - from what i remember its very easy and very inexpensive. http://...

Re: A few mos of bad gas

i'm still not convinced that you'd get detonation or knocking in a normally aspirated 9.2:1 compression engine with 87 octane gas unless there were other *serious* issues with the engine. i could see some *minor* performance or emission issues - and MAYBE some knocking when running WOT at low rpms u...

Re: A few mos of bad gas

i really don't think the gas octane rating is the reason your engine is sounding like cr@p - especially in a normally aspirated mass production engine. octane ratings are recommendations and any production line engine should run just fine on 87 octane.. if what roundtop is saying is true - that all ...

Re: K8 winter project need input

So... had some of you gone to his car-domain site you would have noticed that he owns a 1996 OBD-II mx3.. the engine swap and ecu setup is NOT an easy task - not in the same way an OBD-I klze / de swap is. Trust me on this... I know that it *can* and *has* been done.. with varying degrees of success...

Re: Drilled or Slotted witch one...

there is a more important reason than heat for the holes... at least with race composite brake pads. a gas builds between the surface of the rotor and the pad as the race composite breaks down from the friction and heat. gas coming between 2 rubbing surfaces subsequently reduces the friction between...

Re: I never thought I would see the day...

whoa whoa whoa roundtop.. i bought a pair of perfectly good, used Magnacore ignition leads with no signs of hardly being used... on ebay for 35usd. mazda in victoria said they'd do both gaskets (not including parts) for less than 200$ labour. there's a great walk through on probetalk.com about doing...

Re: How much does engine work cost?

hey lakersfan i bought an extra set of heads in anticipation of playing with them, seeing how they worked and whatnot... without having to remove them from my own car... i went looking for things (porting, valve job) that might increase performance but it would seem that there isn't alot to do.. rep...

Re: intake gains on your cars

much better sound, much better throttle response when blipping the throttle, smoother idle and sure... there's more hp right at the peak but i would never say its a 5hp gain through the entire band... its not going to make you outperform any car you couldn't already outperform in a stock gs. except ...
