Just make sure you leave your garage doors open. You're crazy enough already, to be inhaling exhaust smoke on top...Daninski wrote: starting it up and sit there rev'ing the engine.

Re: Rods lenght
volume swept by an 8.45cm bore and .06604 cm of stroke is h*pi*r^2 = 3.7035 CC... You're right. I made a mistake. I doubled the volume, because I confused a shorter rod with a shorter stroke. Actually, the difference in CR would be lower than I stated before, because, even when the piston is stoppi...

Re: Rods lenght
So.... basically 0. Ze heads are lower CC than DE heads too. Thats probably a bigger difference. 0.56CC difference at TDC with 0.026" shorter rods. ZE heads are 2.5CC smaller. Ryan, I think you should check your numbers. The difference of 0.2:1 CR I pointed out is WITH ZE HEADS IN BOTH CASES A...

Re: KLZE - Worth the head ache?
Nope. There's only one type of KL-ZE. That's the one that delivers 199 bhp, and comes from Japanese cars. There are 2 kinds of KL- DE engines: The one from the MX-6, early 626, and early Millenia, delivers 164 bhp, with a 9.2:1 CR. The one from the late model Millenias is a DE with ZE heads, and del...

Re: Rods lenght
Your resulting static CR with ZE heads would be 9.822:1, give or take.WhiteFinish wrote:How much of compression would I lose if I would take a 5.4" rod in stead of the 5.426" rod ?
I would also use a set of ZE heads.

Re: Second Intake?
open or close shorter or longer intake runners to the cylinder heads loosely based on your RPM. Just a little correction: while K's concept is right, the VRIS valves don't change the length of the intake runners, but the length of the plenum. Otherwise, you'd need 12 butterfly valves, instead of 2....

Oh, ok. I thought I had lived under a rock...
Here in Miami, Katrina was somewhat minor. A few weeks later I escaped Wilma by a hair (literally just a few hours), but, later on, I had to deal with its wake. Really not a pretty sight.

Re: Help SuperK Hone, Please!
your half right. boring is the first step in making the cylinder round, straight and close to the final diameter. while honing is used to scuff the surface of the cylinder to allow oil to stick to it, it is also the method used to get the cylinder to the final wanted dimensions. from my textbook Ho...

Re: Help SuperK Hone, Please!
Dan: I think we're talking about 2 different things here: Honing (as I understand it, and have done it many times)is the act of producing a set of criss crossed scratches on the surface of the cylinder walls, with the purpose of allowing the oil to "seep in" into them, and therefore optimi...

Re: Help SuperK Hone, Please!
I had some "calibration" issues with some off-brand torque wrenches, should i be wary of "harbor freight" micrometers? Or should I invest on a decent brand... like craftsman or ____? (insert quality brand there) I've used HF calipers and mikes for years without a problem, and ch...
