Yeah. It took them a month and nine days to fill up 2 1/2 pages of what we could call "a thread", and 3 days to fill up another 23+ pages with pure, unadulterated cr@p.Mooneggs wrote:HAHAHAHAHA
did you notice that it took about a month before the real owner found out? (look at the post dates)

Re: Epic forum pwnage
Wow, these people are a bad joke... I signed up and posted a reply on that thread, letting them know what I thought (nothing particularly nice, but also nothing that'd break the forum's rules, of course), and within 5 minutes the post was deleted! I guess you're only welcome there if you thin...

Re: good source for mx-3 engines?
That's great news. So you're probably up for a change of head gasket and maybe a new starter. Take the starter off and get it to your nearest auto parts store, and have them test it. They will be able to tell you if it's good or not. Also, if the car has been sitting for that long the battery will b...

Re: Very high output alternator (200A+)
True, but a standard A/C (compressor) cycle is only 15-30% is it not? I'm not looking for efficiency.. just cold air. If 2kW isn't enough (should transfer ~500W @ 30C delta according to the graphs) I guess I'm hosed. Still a fun project! The compressor cycle has nothing to do with the efficie...

Don't worry, it's not hard to believe.SuperK wrote: Oddly enough, you can't find ONE picture of the engine in the kia on google. I know it can be hard to believe. Sorrie.
I may be new here, but I'm still old enough to know who I can trust.

Re: good source for mx-3 engines?
I may be wrong, but to my knowledge, the Kia Sephia used the 8 valve B6.SuperK wrote:Inodoro Pereyra wrote: The B6D (the engine you have right now) was only used on the MX3 and the Mercury Capri.
.
AND THE KIA SEPHIA.
The kia has EXACTLY the same engine, same intake mani and exhaust mani.
If I am wrong, my apologies...

Re: good source for mx-3 engines?
first off, thats a sound idea, im no mechanic, and a friend told me that once you warp the head on these cars, its over. Not at all. Modern engines in general are very strong, but the B6 is just bulletproof. I highly doubt your engine has a warped head, but in the odd case it does, you'd just have ...

Re: Room fuse keeps blowing
Just a tip: sometimes you can fix the problem with a little nail polish. It's a great insulator (at least for the 12 V we have to deal with), sticks really well to cable, and it's elastic enough to last a long time. Just don't let your friends catch you with it...  didn't know you could...

I just put in another fuse the other week and it has held fine since then. I think it had something to do with the battery terminals

Re: Epic forum pwnage
I think it's twice as funny. First, the idiot posts a lot of specs and pics for a car he didn't own (a hell of a lot of work, if you ask me), to get pwned after just 2 1/2 pages and revealed as the poser he is, but then, he disappears, and all the geniuses keep the thread alive for another 18 pages!...

Re: Room fuse keeps blowing
Solo_ryder: first, don't replace a fuse with one of a higher rating!!! . Fuses are there FOR YOUR PROTECTION, and to protect the car's electrical system. If you use a higher rating fuse (in this case, the 20 A fuse you used in place of a 15 A one), you risk further damaging your electrical system, a...

Re: Legal Limits/Issues: Tinting the front windshield
Most front windshields come fron the factory with a degree of tint, which is determined by the regulations for that time. If you look at the corner of the windshield, most have an incription. In that inscription you'll read "Transparency: XX%", in which "XX" will be the minimum t...

Re: good source for mx-3 engines?
If you want a B6D (the same engine you have), it came only on the '94-'96 MX3, and on the '91-'94 Mercury Capry. Or you could just upgrade to a BP, which you can find in '90-'94 Mazda Protege LX, '92-'93 Ford Escort LX-E, '91-'96 Ford Escort GT, '91-'96 Mercury Tracer LTS, '95-'97 Kia Sephia LS or G...
