I can't remember where, but I was online and there was a guy with a Spec Miata that beat a modified porsche on a track. Even though the porsche had twice the power.

A long resonator is the easiest way to calm down the volume and give it a nice rounded tone.

Re: Any Miata fans out there? It's the mx3's hot cousin
Miatas are like slightly smaller, less powerful RX-7 roadsters. I like them alot, I just cant fit into one is the problem. I hate when people say things about the Miata being a womans car, it is THE reason that many sports cars are even made today and it is one of the best performers in its price ...

I'd cruise beside a miata anyday. I'm the only one of my friends that has an mx3, and I get respect cause I brought it back from the dead! But hey, the mazdaspeed miata is pretty damn sexy.
If you put in a slightly bigger intercooler and turbo, it makes close to 250bhp
Not bad for stock internals.

Naturally we're all entitled to our opinion and clichés like that. I just wanted to see if there were any mx5/mx3 lovers here.

Re: Any Miata fans out there? It's the mx3's hot cousin
I am tired of people instantly questioning miata owner's masculinity. They have the perfect lines made by mazda that they used for the mx-3 and the rx-7, but no one calls them girl cars.

Well, it does have a perfect weight ratio (screw nc miatas) it only weighs 2400 ish and puts down close to what the mx-3's do but can be boosted alot quicker.

Re: Best gas milage v6's? and setups used.
I have a stock GS in good shape that gets about 32mpg with Ethanol gas, and 33 without Ethanol. It gets about 34mpg when I put 2¾ oz. Acetone in a full tank.

If you want a bomb proof bottom-end, get the wiseco 9:1 cr pistons and eagle rods. Then the limiting factor is the transmission, not the block.

Re: What happens if you bypass the throttle body?
It warms up the throttle body and causes the intake air to get hot.
It would be nice if we could somehow separate the iac from the throttle body but let it stay in the coolant path, but it would be a whole lot of work for very little gain.
