hi,
ive just sorted my knocking noises,it was the cv gaiter,the zip tie had com loose,tightend it and it was sorted.
get your front wheels off and have a look and see if any things not right.

thanks for replys, on that subject a mate said i should grease round the to create a seal but i did think it would be ok with low preasure. just dont want to wreck any think for the sake of a bit of dirt. i might just take it the garage and let the pros do it if i cant remove much with low preasure....

Cover the distributor with a plastic back. Make sure you cover any aftermarket intake system as well (at least the filter). Then go to the car wash and use a low pressure rinse like a pre-soak to get it all soapy and then wash it off with a rise. You can use the brush for abit as well to clean it u...

The clicking is probably a CV joint. Its not uncommon on a 15 year old car to need new CV axles. If the noise is not bad its safe to leave it for a while. As they wear more the noise will get louder and happen at less sharp turning angles. There are other possible causes for a noise like that, but ...

If the accessory drive belts look old or cracked replace them. Pretty easy job and can't hurt. Use Mazda belts. Trust me. Aftermarket belts tend to squeal on these cars. No body knows why. Check the brakes. Particularly the rears. The calipers tend to sieze because nobody ever does any maintenance on them. I have had to replace the rear calipers on both of my GS's in the first week.
