Re: The Unspoken Rules: Spoken

Maybe we need to change things a bit. How about a donation to mx-3.com before a noob can sell. This should not be an issue to anyone devoted to the site and its members. If you don't mind me butting in one last time...I would gladly have donated in exchange for access to the Classifieds section. An...

Re: Lets make the longest thread EVER!!!!!

Sorry to offended all of you. I was simply trying to help people out while I made a few bucks. I didn't plan on having the car long enough to generate 30 posts on new topics so I went the route I did. Good luck with your cars. Some of them look really nice and they look like they would be a blast to...

Re: Lets make the longest thread EVER!!!!!

Nice looking Thunderbird there. If you need any parts the local salvage yard just got one in that is really similar. I've been hitting the yard hard on Saturdays and pulling parts for the cars I'm fixing and other guys as well. The more I buy the cheaper the prices are! I can throw them on eBay or s...

Re: Interior Carpet

If you looking for spare carpet like you would cover a sub box with you can buy that at you local audio shop or on ebay aswell. Steve-O A lot of parts stores carry the sub box type carpet too. I've bought several rolls from Autozone to repair door panels with, cover package trays, etc. It is usuall...

Re: Lets make the longest thread EVER!!!!!

My once.... Man take it easy! Stop spam posting! Right back at you...if you think it is spam posting give me an example of a worthless post that I put in a thread where someone was asking for information. Take a look at the first page of this thread...not a speck of useful information on here and p...

Re: Why I hate the MX-3 engineering team sometimes

On a lot of my cars I can just unbolt the bottom of the fender and pull it out a little to wash it out. Not so on the MX-3....

Re: Mx-3 sitting in driveway for 14 months....

Usually rust like that will wear off quickly. If you notice a squeeling noise then you can take the rotors off and clean them (sandpaper or whatever) and lightly scuff the pads on rough concrete and reassemble. As for sitting that long, change the engine oil and filter before you fire it up. Then I'...

Re: Questions on using tow bar...

I just picked up a '93 GS with a tow dolly. The front air dam hit the dolly...I usually take a couple of 2x4's or 2x6's that reach from the start of the tow dolly ramps to where the wheels rest to raise it up a little and prevent damage. Should be able to rent one for about the same cost as the tow ...

Re: How much for honing for my BP

I'm in the middle of doing a couple of motors. Most modern imports have hard cylinder walls and they don't wear that much. If you can't feel a ridge at the top of the cylinder and you can still see a little cross hatch then all you need is a light hone often called a glaze break. This gives the cyli...

Re: Burned 2x on eBay for MX-3 related items

I found out that if you use Paypal and fund it with a credit card you can call your card company and say you either got the wrong thing or didn't get it at all...and they will refund the money. Paypal will actually pull it out of the seller's account. Has to be within 60 days I think. If you go long...

Re: different engine, same mpg *UPDATE* 4/5

My old Dodge truck did the same thing. The parking brake was rusted and stayed on just enough to put pressure on the front shoe in the rear. Good thing you finally found it!

Better than my luck. I bought a beater Civic to get to work in...needed a 4 door for the carpool. Only ever had one problem with it...and that was the engine blowing!

Re: Import restoration...the hobby of the future???

The restoration hobby will change a lot but I 100% believe it will eventually include imports of all kinds. Parts are going to be hard to find because there are so many different makes and models now but it will happen. Also, so many of them get crushed that the percentage left in a junkyard for 15-...

Re: UTI or Lincoln Tech?

Most places you will work you will only do body/collision or only mechanic work. If you are undecided about which maybe you should spend a few months working in one or the other and see how you like it. I went to McPherson College which is for restoration and covered about everything....as long as i...
