Re: High beam trouble
I have sold the car, but if it's got an airbag it will say airbag on the steering wheel.
To remove the controls, you just remove the plastic covering around the steering colum, and then remove the control.

Re: Oil Filter removal
The dude that thought it was a good idea to place the filter in that "cave" is an idiot No car shop in my town have anything that you can use up there, there isn't room to turn a filter wrench, and the claw filter tool is too big, so I have ordered the 64mm top from England which I hope fi...

Re: Oil Filter removal
Well I had a tie wrench on the sucker last time I tried to get it off, it just squished the filter flat in the middle, so it's on there pretty tight :) I know about the screwdriver method, but if it fails I'm pretty screwed :P, so I hope the filter top fits and it can take it off otherwise I'm takin...

Re: High beam trouble
Just realized how easy it is to replace, I tought it was the spring you needed some special tools to install
but it's just a bolt on job, so will replace it tomorrow if I have the time , maybe take some pictures.
Thanks for the help guys =)

Re: High beam trouble
yep the cheapest would be a junkyard, but I don't mind the 120$ for a new switch, if I just knew if I can put it on the car, I don't want to disassemble the switch and have springs and doohickeys jumping out at me :) It looks simple if you look in the manual, but the part where it says "Don't d...

Re: High beam trouble
Just talked with the mazda dealer, 120$ for the light switch, 925$ for the whole combination switch O.o I will ask my "cheap" mechanic if he can test the switch to see if it's working or not, and then I guess I will have mazda put a new switch on if the old one is bad, they only want 160$ ...

Re: High beam trouble
It's a 97
well I guess it's the switch, but the funny thing is when I measure the pins, it's making a connection
so in my head, the switch should work...
maybe it's the wires going from the female plug connector ?

Re: High beam trouble
I don't really remember if you have to turn the little knob to have the High beam on all the time, but even if I do that it doesn't work. It doesn't Mather if I have the e-brake on or not, it still doesn't work I have an appointment with a mechanic 25/11 so maybe he can take a look at it, maybe he h...

Re: High beam trouble
Have you tried to take the switch apart ?, it looks like to remove the light switch you have to remove the clock spring, and the manual say's you shouldn't take it apart, because it needs some special tools to put the spring back in
