I hav a dohc bp. but my question is does the sohc protege HAVE a jackshaft? or is it a straight axle like an mx3?

well taking the ac out is easy and its only like $20 for a non ac belt. However if you do remove the ac i recommend leaving the condenser in because it sits infront of the radiator and will protect it from rocks and the sort but thats ur call.

I definately recommend removing the ac for your sohc if you dont mind rolling down the windows in summer.
