Re: Ricer Exhaust To Stealthy SportsCar Exhaust

well, i had the same issue last summer. i had a megan racing canon 2.25" exhaust and a highflow magnaflow cat and it was so loud and ricey. i bought a magnaflow non canon type, looks like a regular muffler but with like a 3" chrome tip. i like the look more than the canon, and it not only ...

Re: New guy with a 95

for a n/a build i dont think anyones really gotten into it too much. ive been curious about this to as a b16 up till vtec makes the same power as the b6de or very close, but when vtec kicks in its engaging a different lobe on the cams with more lift and duration. vtec is there so you dont lose your ...

Re: Check Engine Light, Floor it... Gone.

i skipped a couple pages and saw it did come back again. you may not to replace the o2, i just had to pull mine out and clean it, but i do this regularly it was just really carbon'd up... if that doesnt work then yes replace it. you said you didnt have much money so you can try to just clean it. sor...

Re: Check Engine Light, Floor it... Gone.

how can you come on here claiming you have knowledge about cars, and want to use a gameboy like thing to scan a obd1 car? if you dont know what a scan tools called even if you had one and a obd2 car you'd be more than lost and have no clue to how to scan for codes or see the % each cylinders firing ...

Re: smokeychokey

if smokes coming from where your cat is then you have a exhaust leak as thats the only way for the exhaust to smoke, did you put in a test pipe? weld or clamps? or gut the cat? if you gutted it did you get new gaskets?. it could also be a leak thats dropping on the exhaust and burning that way. expl...

Re: Mx-3 for racing on 1/3 mile oval

thats what i mean! i used stock miata cams and it is the best single mod for the mx besides turbo. the stock miata cams made more of a difference than my intake, high flow cat, 2.25" exhaust piping, gutted pre-cat, magnaflow muffler all put together. for stage 1 or stage 2 miata cams you'd need...

Re: MX3.com quarter mile time list

geeze i thought i would of seen a couple N/A ze's in the 13's? westpalm on probetalk ran a 13.8 @98mph in his mx6 at 98, a couple of you guys have very similar traps and less weight, why is this? i thought a mx6 was heavier than even a probe gt with wider gearing? i just don't see why a sedan is qui...

Re: Mx-3 for racing on 1/3 mile oval

seeing as i was pretty much the first to do the swap like 4 years or so ago. First thing is first, what ever aftermarket cams you buy must match lift and duration on intake and exhaust. other wise the swap will not work. then you have to swap intake cam from miata(or 323) to exhaust cam of MX and vi...

i dont think he can though as they wont even allow an intake. plus its a little costly for some weekend track fun. theyd notice a piggy back, and def. the engine rewiring with gm sensors for megasquirt or standalone...lol...y does it have a gm maf and coil would be their first incline it isnt all or...

Re: Mx-3 for racing on 1/3 mile oval

im sure sea foaming it wouldnt hurt either to get whatever carbon builups in there out. as for spring rates you'll have to search that as im not sure. but the gs springs are stiffer then the rs. i remember mine and the horrible body roll before the b/g springs. some parts you might want to stock up ...

Re: Mx-3 for racing on 1/3 mile oval

vics is variable intake chamber resonance or something like that...lol... its a butterfly valve on the back passenger side of your intake manifod that is closed and open at certain rpms, you should be able to move the rod by hand. and you will notice a surge and deeper bog when it opens, this is a m...

Re: Mx-3 for racing on 1/3 mile oval

bp throttle body does not work on the DOHC- it was probably someone who has or thought you had a SOHC-bore yours out and fabricate a throttle plate.\ miata cams- ARE A MUST- just put the miata intake cam on the mx3 exhaust side and the miata exhaust cam on the mx3 intake side thats the most difficul...

Re: Mx-3 for racing on 1/3 mile oval

hey, good luck man. since i have a doch 1.6 i thought id mention a cple unnoticeable mods: 1miata cams- you already have them and are an easy install(couple hours) because in the miata the motors facing a different way for rwd you have to just put the intake cam from the miata on the exhaust side of...
