7k?? id go with a 94 protege lx 1.8 DOHC BPD engine. Grab a gtx turbo manifold off corksport, bolt it on, grab there IHI converted t3 hybrid turbo, which can push 320hp. Get a couple lx trannies ;) . Haltek e6k stand alone engine managment, HUGE FMIC, 550cc injectors, and set it for 25 psi ;) ....th...

short term, pp, cams, etc like boosted said. Long term I get a e6k, since the ell is out the prices have dropped a littel and nothing else can measure the tunability it will allow you in the long term
