SRD Rear Lower Control Arm bushings...

Post by Shades »

Anyone have trouble with these before?

I'm getting 38mm on the bushings, and 35mm on the LCA hole... are these bushings for the V6 LCA's?

On my Mx3 the mechanic had to have some sleeves made to go on the outside on the rear bushing to get it tight.

Not sure if this is common, but a big hassle anyway.

Did you Completely remove all the rubber from the inside of the hole? Mine pressed right in.
Oh, and grease the F out of the bolt and inside of the hole. Otherwise they will squeek like a mouse being eaten by a lawn mower (don't ask how I know what that sounds like).

Yup, I've glassbeaded and painted it... and there's no outer sleeve left inside nor any rubber or anything. I did a search and I think that it's like the Protege ones that have the smaller hole... looks like I'll have to hit a junkyard to grab one.

SRD bushings

Post by drkwing3 »

Just went through the same thing today. There was so much play that I was getting a "clunking" noise due to the fact that the bushing was moving in the cage. Said thwi and went and got some mazdaspeed bushing.

you are having the opposite problem that shades is having... if yours are loose that means you popped that metal sleeve out of the bushing holder... on the control arms when you push out the rear most bushings there is a partial metal sleave in there and you must leave it in or it wont' fit. I popped it out on accident and it made it very loose os i have to find a new one and pop the bushing out again.

shades not sure what the deal is on yours though maybe they switched it in the later years
