92 gs engine light

I recently bought a 1992 gs. I have a problem with water leaking in the windshield, have the windshield to put in... just no time yet. Anyways, a few days ago it rained heavily, I vaccumed the water out. However, My check engine light has come on. I don't know if it is coincidence or not, but it came on before when the passenger floor got wet , and seemed to go off after the car dried out. Is there a code reader I should consider buying?? Do you think there is a correlation between the water and the light? I have allowed the car to dry out very well, but this time the light won't go out. When the motor is cold the light is not on. However, after a few minutes of driving it comes on and won't go off. If I restart after the motor is warm, the light immediately comes on. Is it my oxygen sensors? If so , how hard to remove and is there a reset button for the light? Thanks.

Have your EGR Valve checked. Mine did the same thing. About the moisture, if you let it dry very well, no worries. When my EGR Valve clogged-up, that darn light came on.<P>The error code you're looking for is 16. If your error code reads 16, chances are it's your EGR.
