Using a V6 Radiator for a 4cyl BPT setup??
So got a V6 Aluminum Radiator I need to run on my BPT, planning on plugging the holes I dont need, and running an elbow pipe with an inlet on the top left pipe, pictured below, Any thoughts? Has anyone run a V6 radiator on a 4cyl before?
The reason why I have a V6 Rad is I couldn't locate a resonably priced Aluminium one to suit 4cyl.

Looks like you have the only issue covered!
They mount the same only difference is the 4cyl has the rad cap on the rad and the GS does not. You have covered your bases. Just make sure you have a nice mounting point and use quality hose and clamps. That would be my only worry.

Thanks Josh, yeah that was the only real differance I could see too, I'll see what the radiator shop wants to weld close the holes, otherwise I'll just chase down some brass plugs.
I'll put my results back up here for those interested

Re: Using a V6 Radiator for a 4cyl BPT setup??
Some Updates for anyone interested,
The 4cyl Radiator Fans are direct bolt up, The inlet top arrived it fits the stock radiator cap (Inlet cap details: Joyner 250, 800 Renegade Steel Radiator Inlet Cup),
just need to get an L pipe and some clamps, and Im getting the spare holes welded up. I will need longer hoses to connect the radiator up to my BPT but thats no biggie..

I got mine off ebay, from an Australian company for $190,
But as you're in the US and you guys have more suppliers/cheaper shipping than us down here , id suggest this Silla one from Andy's Auto Sport

Re: Using a V6 Radiator for a 4cyl BPT setup??
My concerns with this rad would be the passenger side rad hose. Since the stock mx has it on the bottom part of the rad where as this one has it at the top of the rad. For most guys they have their power steering an AC stuff all in the way, I could see you routing the hose with out all those things. Plus not to mention radiators usually flow from top(hot) to bottom(cold) where you would be going top to top so you wouldn't be getting the most efficient cooling out of your rad. If you are overly concerned about over heating put "Water Wetter" in with your coolant an change your fluid yearly. But that's my 2 cents good luck with the rad

It's possible to put an inline T with cap.

Thanks for the feedback Tavman , Im considering just running a flexible hose to the correct coolent inlet and outlet points, the hoses will be longer than stock setup but im hoping it will do the job.

I just want to point out that Aarontietje used a v6 rad on his BPT set up.
