boging, hesistation

Post by mx3matt »

i'm not even sure what to call it really. but 90% of the time when i'm driving i get a weird bog/hesitation that i think may have to do with the vris, but when i rev it up in the driveway visually everything seems fine and vris shutter open smoothly.

i find that in 1st,2nd and 3rd if i'm cruising along at about half throttle and floor it i get a very quick brief hesistion/bog and then what feels like boost when it does kick back in, i've driven 2 other k8's for comparison and they dont do it.
It feels like theres a quick load on the motor that bogs it for maybe half-1 second at the most and then hauls hard again.

it was doing this since the day i bought the car but has gotten worse over the last few months.

I'd say throttle position sensor, as opposed to VRIS. Most people wouldn't notice the difference in VRIS points being off, but anybody would feel a difference with a mal-adjusted TPS.

There's a writeup in the V6 FAQ on setting it, It's well made and will set you straight if that's your issue! :2thumbsup:

I WOULD SAY CHECK TPS AS WELL BUT ALSO CHECK FUEL FILTER, I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND MY DISTRIBUTOR AND POINTS ON THE CAP WERE CORRODED, CLEANED THEM UP AND PROBLEM SOLVED. GUESS IT WAS RANDOMLY ARCHING INSIDE THE CAP.
