I got my GS with the Cat already removed and it is not loud...just a little throatier. Combined with the CAI it is awesome sounding.

The CAT will make a big difference. Changing your piping will make a different sound as well. I just got my 'ebay' muffler welded on just the other day. As for now I have the stock piping, and cat still on. It has a deep tone at lower rpm's but not really loud. When I'm normal driving or on highway, you can't even tell I have a muffler on, really. It sounds perfect. Changing the muffler done alittle bit, but not much.

A 4inch tip will make it sound loud and stupid. Get a muffler with double wall tip(s) and under 3 inch dia.

Id suggest 2.5" max diameter unless there is some turbo application going on. Glasspacks
for the resonator if your budgeting, otherwise a brand name resonator after a nice high flow
cat. That should 'stfu' your exhaust. Exhaust noise and goodness are inversely proportional
to each other - ie the louder it gets the less goodness.

Resonators will really help out the crappy sound, as will a good cat. Do not cut out the cat
unless its the stock cat. If you have that annoying pre cat cat, get rid of that thing before
eliminating your main cat.

Spend the money you save on some sound deadener for your trunk.

This is such a bad idea. Even if it does sound like dc or skunk2, you'll be the only who knows about it. We've already told you not to get the 4inch cannon... now you're being told not to upgrade the exhaust dia. If you don't want advice stop asking questions that everyone will be against.

This is not a shot against you, but I'm guessing you are fairly young?

ok, so I guess age and taste are different. The only people running a "ricer" exhaust around here are kids. Like I've posted earier I used to have a 90dB exhaust system.. it blew.. Waay too loud. You can't enjoy the ride when there is a constant drone from the muffler.

a 3" open pipe both looks and sounds foolish. enjoy your many cars.
