No there is not MTX version of the Capella with the V-6. Even in Ford and Mazda current North American model line the V-6 is only available with an ATX due to it being better able to handle the higher engine torque and stress of the AWD system. With a few modifications the ATX would probably handle 300-400ft/lb torque where a MTX would be limited to about 200ft/lb.

someone with a protege tried to bolt AWD stuff up to their car.
the driveshaft doesn't clear the floor pan. Unless you bang the crap out of your floor to clear teh driveshaft you'll have to swap the floor pan as well (not an easy task)

now why didnt they just come out with the mazda 626 mps concept (2000, KLZE and manual AWD trannny, wish i could get ahold of one of those trannies).

Ok this AUTO trannie for the japanese capella is AWD, but it wouldnt be worth converting a 5spd K8DE/KLZE to auto I would think...

to address the AWD drivetrains torque and trans limits. it is usually the change in torque that blows our the tranny of driveshaft...TURBO AWD MX3 w/ larger turbos w/a late ft/lb spike (ex. t66 at ?10psi?)
