Side Exit Exhausts?

Post by UKMX-3 »

Has Anyone attempted them yet? I fancy some....can anyone think of a reason aside from legal Issues - (Which I'll just ignore) why it couldn't be done?

If anyone has got them could you tell me how you did it and if it 's a good idea?

i have my exhaust comeing out in front of the front tires. its not that loud. well, not near as loud as i thought it would be. theres no muffler, no cat nothing besides the turbo to muffle the sound. i kinda like the way it sounds. i might get a silencer from summit for it just to quiet it a little more.

i have been wanting to post some pics of my whole setup but i cant figure out how too. is there some one i can email them too and they can put them up for me? i have quite a few at home. the only thing about my system i dont like is that i made the hot side charge pipes too low, so i only have like 2 1/2 to 3 inches clearance. but ill take more pics tonight. for my down pipe i'm useing a 20" piece of flex exhaust pipe welded to a exhaust pipe. (that flex pipe sucks to weld).

your rims would be dirtier than ever IMO if you would do that. All of your exhaust would be pushed back onto your paint and rims. And being completely honest I would laugh my a-- off if I saw this rolling down the road on an MX3.

I have the exhaust coming out of infront of the rear tires. I think it would look sweet there with sideskirts. unfortunately i don't have the money yet. The pics are on car domain.

Also i have not had any problems with the rims getting dirty from the exhaust. just that i can't take big curves without the exhaust hitting. that is why they are bent up and i can't seem to keep tips on. you just have to be careful but living in a small town with lots of gravel roads it is pretty hard.
