Rim and Tire sizes??

Post by MikeUK »

If I get a set of 17"s, whats the ideal tire size that I should go for??

Do 18" look too big??

Whats every one running on? Pics would help.

not always Chris,

a 17x7 wheel should have a 205/40/17... while a 17x7.5 wheel should have a 215/40/17.

I have 17x7.5 Konigs, and 205/40/17s and they are too small.

according to that calc. You would need 215/40/r17 or 205/45/r17 to keep within 1% of your stock speedometor calibration

215/40R17 would be the closest to the diameter of the stock wheel/tire combination, the 40 (sidewall height)being the aspect ratio or percentage of the 215 (width of the tire), which is 3.4 inches, added to each side of the 17 inch rim, which is 23.8 inches, same as the diameter of the 205/55R15 which comes on an mx-3 gs...or you could just use that tire calculator, which is alot easier!
