BMW announces new 330i M Performance Edition Package
Whitby, Ontario - BMW Individual, a division of BMW M GmbH, has announced the new 330i M Performance Edition package is now available in Canada for a retail price of $6,900.
The package includes a 3.0 litre in-line six-cylinder engine with different intake and exhaust camshafts and performance-modified Digital Motor Electronics, yielding a 10 horsepower increase to 235 and a 8 ft/lb increase to 222 ft/lb of torque. The transmission has been changed to a six-speed manual as a standard feature, with a short-throw shifter and a shorter final drive ratio. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 6.4 seconds, about half a second faster than a standard 330i.
Other features include a new exhaust that looks and sounds more aggressive, a more aggressively tuned sports suspension and 18-inch wheels featuring 225/40 ZR 18 (front) and 255/35 ZR 18 (rear) performance tires. Exterior changes also include M Aerokits fitted to the front and rear of the sedan.
Interior modifications include cloth and Alcantara sport seats for additional support, as well as, the addition of an M Sport Steering Wheel wrapped in Alcantara anthracite; an anthracite roofliner and black or silver cube aluminum trim; instrumentation featuring red needles and the tachometer, which reflects the modified engine's 300 higher rpm limit.
The first cars will be in dealers this month.

Also, I dont know what your local dealer has for clear turn signale lenses, but we sell the euro-spec clear lenses.
1) you get 2 front clear turn signal housings with orange bulbs.
2) 2 clear fender side markers with orange bulbs
3) 2 clear rear tail light housings (orange bulbs separate)
I dont belive you can get all 3 sets as one big kit any more but you can still buy each set.
I know cause I have installed a few within the last 3 months.
ALSO!!!! there are about 6 different types of clear front turn signal housings, so make sure you get the right ones for your car.
some just clip in, some have a philips screw that hold them on, the style also changes about evey 2-3 years, some swoop down to the oust side of the car and the newer ones swoop up.

ALSO!!!! The 2004 modles MAY have 1 piece headlamp/turnsignal assemblies, you would you would have to check on that.

Re: ? for you bmw enthusiasts
wow so much info thanks curt.
unfortunately i have the 325i sport, not the 330i, so it might be a few more thousand when i trade it in. i should've waited though. that 330i looks real good.
i was also afraid that those taillights wouldn't fit. i guess i will have to do a bit more digging to find an led taillamp that'll fit.
one question, why does the 2003 530i w/ sport package come with the steering wheel with the 'm' on the center, and the 2003 325i with sport package doesn't? is that 'm' a totally seperate package also?
i guess i'll have to ditch the sport rear with the reflectors on the bottom and go with an aftermarket rear for the e46.
(i also received my bmwfilms dvd from bmw and that m5 in 'the star' is sexy

Re: ? for you bmw enthusiasts
yah, we got a copy at the dealership in december, so I burned a few copies for stock stuffers.
the M style stuff comes on all kinds of cars. its just a trim level or option level.
you got the "sport package" but did you get the "M interior style Package", there are a TON of options and packages
I have lots of time on my hands cause I injured my back at work so Im at home for at least a week to let it heal up.
and the M5 is super fast! I cant wait for the New M5, the new E60 545 is actually almost as fast as the old E39 M5.
The new 545 has 335 H.P. 6 speed trans and weighs the same as the old 5 series. Iv driven both and the new 545 is VERY fast.
the next 2 years are gonna be awsome, the new 6 is coming in about 2 months, the new 4.8is (355 H.P.) X5 is coming in about 4-6 months, and the new M5 is coming next year!

Re: ? for you bmw enthusiasts
curt enlighten me. i was cleaning the cars today and noticed something when my brother would put the cars into gear (drive). i noticed on the 530 that the rear end dropped like 2 cm lower, then when he went into park, it went back up. same thing for the 325. i was really excited just because of the cool factor, but i'd like to know why the cars do this.

Re: ? for you bmw enthusiasts
all automatic BMW's do this (the standard ones do as well but you cant see it cause you would stall the car)
because it an auto some of the engines torque is going through the trans, multiplyed, sent down the drive shaft to the rear diff and it trys to turn the rear wheels, but beacuse you have the brakes applyed the torque cant rotate the rear wheels.
insted becase of the set up of the rear suspension and the rear diff, the force is transferd to the body of the car causing it to squat down.
this is why the car feels like it launches so hard when you beat on it. insted of the brakes stopping the wheels from turning, its the friction between the tires and the road and the "bodies at rest tend to remain at rest" law of physics that cause the rear end to squat down, thus transfering more weight to the rear of the car resulting in more traction and beter acceleration.

yea its for the gps. it can play regular dvds but the sound doesn't come out.
the monitor for the gps is over the old rear view and its a 3x2.5" screen with a small speaker for the navigation like 'turn left'.
