That is just it one of the sileniods is hooked up the one to the VICS system. The other one I'm not sure what it is and to no suprise it isn't talked about in the haynes manual. I just don't think that the silenoid is working properly on the 1.6 harness since that engine didn't have the VICS.

Getting the alternator is what I thought would be the simplest solution. The crank pulley and the water pump pulley use the V pulley. The alternator listed for the DOHC protege 90-95 houses the flat pulley. I cannot find an alternator for my engine with a v pulley.
