Re: JUST got a K8-ZE
what about torque? 140 its pretty sad for a car with our weight tho. I still say klde is better bang for the buck, more torque. Me having a kfze in the past would know. +1 The DE has better HP/torque compared to the K8ZE and theyre easier to find. Plus, if you're talking about changing out the harn...

Re: Seriouse problem with air intake and pre detonation
"serious problems with triple posting" :) I would start by fixing the vac leak (new intake) and potentially the VAF. Start by replacing the intake and see what happens. The car shouldnt stay running if the VAF is unplugged; the ecu needs info on how much air is going into the engine to co...

Re: Hesitation on acceleration
+1... All cars are pre-programmed to function efficiently off of a certain type of octane rating; also to maintain the vehicle's intended performance and keep temperatures lower. Since are cars were programmed to perform with 87 octane, then simply dumping in 89, 91, or higher isn't going to do anyt...

yes, keep the ignition ON but engine off. It will blink in a series. Search for CEL codes to get detailed info.

Re: Hesitation on acceleration
The higher octane does effect performance (LET ME FINISH!) in COMPARISON to lower octane fuels. The reason for this being that the lower octane fuel, when under stress, will predetonate. This in turn will cause the engine's performance to deteriorate. I'm not sure how much I believe this.... you ar...

Re: Will a TOT57271 disty work in place of a TOT57171 disty?
I wondered this myself but just didnt ask the question. Rockauto has been selling reman'd disty's for our 94's (minus cap and rotor) for a while. I think the price point was like 60-80 bucks too.

Re: Hesitation on acceleration
how many miles on the engine and when was your last tune up? Lets start there....
You replaced the disty but is it new or used? How many miles did you put on it.

Re: 1994 v6 won't start when hot fine from cold
It will be the TOT57171 for you.
I think rockauto has the distributor minus the cap and rotor for 60 or 70 brand new. Otherwise, you'll search for this model disty for a while (or pay 300-400 for one).
I know this from plenty of experience lol

Re: Hesitation on acceleration
Do you have the stock accordian style intake tubing? If so, check for cracks in between the little creases. That could be causing it (thus, vac leak).

Re: Need help on swapping ecu's
With the KL31 installed and the neg pulled on the battery depressing the brake pedal for 15secs would of cleared the memory in the KL31 ecu for you and it could of started fresh. It's advised you keep the motor running for 15 mins minimum after clearing the ecu but I'm not sure why. Cheers It gives...

Re: Steering linkage
Wow, for the headache, I would suggest getting a newer/reman'd rack, lol. Side note, I'm sure all of us that have spent time under our cars have either ingested or got rusty car in our eyes/noses, lol. That combined with stubborn bolts and bloody knuckles would drive anyone to alcoholism. Of course,...
