You replaced the disty but is it new or used? How many miles did you put on it.

I think rockauto has the distributor minus the cap and rotor for 60 or 70 brand new. Otherwise, you'll search for this model disty for a while (or pay 300-400 for one).

Do you have the stock accordian style intake tubing? If so, check for cracks in between the little creases. That could be causing it (thus, vac leak).

With the KL31 installed and the neg pulled on the battery depressing the brake pedal for 15secs would of cleared the memory in the KL31 ecu for you and it could of started fresh.
