Re: 1.6 SOHC project

Did you get the head decked at all? I mean the stock compression is something weak like 9.2 to 1 or something. It would be kewl to raise the compression ratio to be something like 9.5 or 9.8 to 1.
I wondering if the valves would clear the pistons?
-Cybin....

Re: HELP! MX-3 will only go 100 mph (speed governor)

SOHC 1.6L with Manual Tranny could do 115mph maybe. 130 no way, My Merkur with 175HP stock could only do 137mph, at least that's what the cop told me.
And for all you telling him to slow down.... get a life. So everyone is tricking out there cars and dropping B6T's for show? Naw didn't think so.

Re: Mushy brakes and no stopping power.

Naw man. I was in a 1999 mustang the other day and it's brakes didn't have that much play. Heck, my 1987 merkur xr4ti had much better brakes then the MX-3. I just can't believe that some one designed this car with these crappy brakes.
Later

Re: Mushy brakes and no stopping power.

I'm not sure about that since most other cars don't do it to the extreme that my car does. My pedal moves like 2 inches and then when it firms up only like a 1/2 inch.
I guess I'm wondering if anyone has had problems with their power booster or anything else i'm not aware of.

Re: Mushy brakes and no stopping power.

No, I've done all of that. My friends MX3 also has mushy brakes, so I'm wondering if all of yours does too? You might not notice it until your in another car. Also I'm not sure what it means when I turn off the car and pump the brakes the pedal firms up. Does any one elses car do that?

Okay heres the deal. I've replaced everything in my brake system but the power booster and still have the worst brakes ever. The pedal is super mushy and if I turn off the car and pump the brakes the pedal firms up. Have any of you had this problem? I know I could have air in the lines but I've blee...

Re: Idle Problems

Most of the stuff in and around your throttle body doesn't need to be touched. As far as putting a jumper on ten and ground. That just puts your car into ...

Re: Idle Problems

Sorry guy I should have explained that the plug you unplug is an electical item. This shuts off the air bypass valve.
the air mass meter is not affected by this one bit since it sits upstream of the air bypass.
It may affect you emissions a little, but I doubt it.
People who are having a idl...

Re: Idle Problems

Okay first thing first... a bad head gasket is not your problem. Mine did the same thing everyone elses does. I unplugged the Air by-pass valve and it fixed the problem. locate you throttle body. under it you see the air by pass valve. between it and the firewall you'll see a plug.... unplug it. You...
