Well...took apart the dash...Daunting task...but came out pretty easy. To my surprise...taking thetest light and touching the crap out of connectors...I've isolated the PROBLEM around the fuse block. Im in the same situation.
Theres a little snap clip on the top of the speedo line that plugs right in the back of the cluster.
Check that out to see if its securely in there.

MX-3 is movin on th WI in a few days.
There will be a shell left over.
Still looking for someone to give the car a new life with a KZ or better heart.
