Re: Rebuild started but seems like it's been done before

can you do me a favour and measure the knock sensor resistance (one of the wires off the know sensor is a shield so you need to measure accorss the red wire and then to the block to get a reading) correct reading should be 560ohms, i got 570K ohms today. cheers. ::EDIT:: actually you dont have to wo...

Re: Rebuild started but seems like it's been done before

its good (well sorta) that you have found many small problems that would cause poor performance but nothing serious (damaged), with such a bad job done on it there could have easily been serious damage done. post up some more pics! your making me want to tear down my engine more and more!

Re: At last, MX-6 ECU + KL02 vs. Probinator + JE50 dyno results.

Nd4SpdSe im not doubting probinator came along with a good option as a replacement for the true ZE ECU and JE50, but i can tell you from the probinator and KL31/KL36 EPROMs i have that probinator copied the ZE fuel enrichment map (unmodified). ive been running a ZE for over 5 years now, i only recen...

Re: At last, MX-6 ECU + KL02 vs. Probinator + JE50 dyno results.

with the MX3 because it runs the JE50 VAF you should be able to throw in a KL31/KL36 EPROM, if you have a 93' it will be plug and play, if you have a 94-95' you will need to add the wire for the ECTS (pretty easy), if you have a 95' you will need a disty with both hall effect sensors. not sure how m...

Re: At last, MX-6 ECU + KL02 vs. Probinator + JE50 dyno results.

ive never seen a probinator EPROM that runs off a JE50 VAF, if someone has one any chance they can take a dump for me?

Re: hesitation

i would say disty from the symptoms you are describing, when the car is at lights the engine bay gets hotter and the heat causes the disty to fail, i had bucking when my disty was failing. (you might also want to check your cap and rotor for carbon). if you have another disty it wont hurt to swap it...

Re: Finally visited a dyno. Apparently running super rich. :(

i originally posted this a few months ago on the topic: http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=69959" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that answers a few questions that have been repeated here. as for the engine running rich, the probinator is a modified KL85 EPRO...

Re: why do KL31/KL36's run rich?

the KL85.bin is simply a stock ECU bin that probinator modified for the KLZE tune that people buy. i havent turned down the fuel pressure using the KL36 ECU or KL31.bin so im not in a position to compare the two but i would say nothing can compare to the proper OEM equipment rather then a tune (if i...

Re: why do KL31/KL36's run rich?

i have tired both the probinator and KL31/KL36, i think you will find the KL31/36 will run better down low (below 4000rpm) and the probinator will run better above above 4000rpm. this is mainly due to the probinator being a modified KL85.bin and not a proper KL31.bin, not every multiplier has been c...

Re: why do KL31/KL36's run rich?

ive ran the ZE on 98 (BP) for about 3 years non stop and i have to say if anything its been an improvement going down in octane more so then up. i really doubt due to this that its a fuel related issue but thanks for your input, i really hope to find something useful out as im ready to give up on th...

why do KL31/KL36's run rich?

ive read now on here, MX6.com and PT that the ZE ECU's run rich, i have a ZE in a probe and a friend has one in a MX3, both run rich e.g. my dyno plot: http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm284/stoker100/P140309_132402.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; both of us were fouli...

tuner pro needs the same thing (.xdf) so i still have to manually find all the maps and tell the software where they are. ill be doing this soon from the look of it.
