Alternator on klze?

Post by MojoJojo »

I'm looking to purchase a klze swapped mx3, but the seller claims the alternator is faulty. What would best approach to replace it? Any extra difficulties with access on the swapped engine? Any other likely sources for charging failure on these engines? The car is around 3 hours away and I would like to fix the problem there instead of tow. If I was to change it to the 110 alternator regardless, is the millenias 2.3l alternator compatible or only the one from the 2.5?

If you want to go for the 110amp alternator than you need to add some additional wiring for the 12v.
Also you'd need to have the alternator mount (alternator to head) from the 110amp.

If you want to have a quick fix; take a standard alternator and swap it out.
Just another Mx3 freak :)

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
