Its with great sadness that I have to share the passing of a member of the MX-3/Mazda community. Mason passed away this weekend in his sleep. He was 34 years old.

RIP Mason.

He was before my time on the forums and seemed to have disappeared around the time I joined. I heard he had some medical problems back then, but seemed very well liked and respected. I wish his surviving friends and family the best.

I never met Mason, but offer my condolences to those who did. 34 is too young to pass away.

With my apologies to the bard;

V6, or not V6--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler of the mind to suffer
The weight and understeer of lawndart proportions
Or to take an inline four of troubles
And by boosting end them? To die, to sleep--
No more-- and by sleep we say we end
The headache of a thousand electrical shorts
That the MX3 is heir to. And the over consumption
That comes with running rich.
To die, to downshift--
To sleep--perchance to pass; ay, there's the rub,
For in that downshift to pass what issues may come
When the failing integrated coils,
That give us misfires, rear their ugly heads. There's the respect
That makes us laugh at our devotion to such an old gem.
For, who else would bear the rust and rot of time
The AC Compressor's whine, the exhaust hangers rattle
The cursing of the seized bolt, the rounded head,
The exhaust leaks, and the never passing emissions tests?
To grunt and sweat under a tiny hood
But fear that there is nothing after restart,
The undiscovered road, the tight twisting curves
To race around forever. It gives us pause.
--Drive on good sir, there is but open road and endless blue skys.
