Finding brake disks 4x100 320mm

Post by WhiteFinish »

Who knows a good way to find brake disks ?

I now have the Mazdaspeed 6 brakes, but I actually don't want to drill any holes for my 4x100 pattern.

Sizes:
center: 54.1
320mm
hight 46
thick 25
M12 holes

I prefer to have an OEM brake disk, not custom made.

That is a bit large for what I have found in OE 4x100's. The biggest and best rotors I have found that are close enough to OE offsets are the 89-91 VW carrado 11" front rotors.

Ok, I'll keep looking.

Who can educate me on brake disk thickness and hight ?

Could you thin a 28mm disk to a 23mm disk for example ?

Mini Cooper Works model with the big brakes is very very close. The lugs are large so the holes are bigger but everything else is right on.

From my experience... Convert to 5 lugs. You'll have more wheel options available.
Daily:
'12 Challenger R/T + STP - 3.92 w/ LSD, JG Cam, headers, SkipShift delete, Clutch Delay Valve delete, Hurst STS, RAM Clutch Adjuster, StopTech 6 Piston Brakes, Sticky Nittos, 435 WHP

Kid Hauler:
'08 Suburban LT 4WD - TVS 1900 Blower, LF SC Cam, headers, AFM delete, true 5" lift, 33x12s, 523 WHP

First Love:
'92 GS 5 spd - Straightneck KL/67mm TB, MegaSquirt/Coilpacks, 5 lugs/Speed6 brakes/FD wheels, wiretuck, coilovers, headers, AEM WB, Borla

Either convert to 5 lugs, drill standard Speed6 rotors for 4x100, or find an aftermarket 2 piece rotor, and have 4 lug hats bolted on.

If/When I need to replace the rotors, I feel that a 2 piece aftermarket option may be worthwhile. These SOBs are heavy!

Well you can get hubs for pretty cheap, it is the rotor that is pricey. the cheapest I could find was close to 400 each. Brembo's are 700. The hubs you can find for about 100 bucks. your best bet would be to try and find someone parting an old kit out. but that could take a while. That is why I used the 11" rotors on the GS and am running the 5 lug swap with RX8 rotors on the RS. keep in mind if you do not want a wobbling rotor you will need to get a hucentric ring either for the mini or carrado rotors.

Even if you find a 320mm rotor, the hat offset will need to be very close to that of the Speed6 rotors, or you just run into additional trouble.

Trust me, you won't find a cost effective 4x100 alternative, unless you drill it out yourself. If you could, I would have done so already... 5 lugs were not my first choice, but dramatically simplified this conversion for me.

If only I had been less stubborn about my wheel choice, it would have saved me some hassle!

Yeah, there are no 320mm 4x100 rotors unless it is an aftermarket set or you drill out a set of 5x114's. I do remember somone years ago used S2K front rotors. The rotors I have are 280mm and I am using a miata conversion kit for them, well parts of it as I am using 4 pot front calipers. It is bolt up for OE brake calipers. And I have already done the miata sport rear upgrade and they are also like 280mm and I used the miata conversion braket for those with a little filing.

The S2K rotors went with the MPV dual piston upgrade, I believe.
