For those CF nuts

Post by kulluminati777 »

REAL CF door handle covers. Just the right touch for those on a mission to have the whole car remade in CF but never will

As group of gentleman once said ``you have to pay to play´´.....
Most carbon fiber stuff is pricey. thats why it shocks me everyone wants CF dash´s and doors but this is some top quality stuff. A friend of mine back in germany had a set. I just remembered and decide to post the link. They fit mazda used pretty much the same outside door handles on EVERY car in the 90´s.....

It's true that you have to pay to play man, but honestly for a lot of us it comes down to benefit...

While these are cool, and look great, the factory handles are far from heavy. Judging by the one in my hand, they're around a pound a piece.

$80 + shipping isn't justified for the performance benefit for me... :/ I'd pay 3x that for a door, or 5x for a dash because of the weight savings... Now, if I already had carbon fiber for the doors, I'd be all over this.

As for the link, it always worked for me, but VERY slowly.

The whole thing isnt carbon. tts just a cover made of Cf so no performance gain. Its for those with A)attention to detail B)with keyless entry (some handles have the option of no keyholes for a smooth look) C) those with other CF accents already like CF mirrors and gascaps and stuff

Umm 80 bucks is very reasonable for actual CF covers. Now if they were a complete handle replacement I would expect like 150-250 for a set. very cool none the less. I payed 150 just for actual CF trim covers in my 8..

To each his own I guess.
I wouldn't put CF door handles on a metal door any sooner than I'd paint my OEM handles a different color than the door... The one piece where I MIGHT be willing to go otherwise would be a hood, and knowing me I'd probably still paint it. Carbon fiber looks cool, and I'd LOVE a full CF shell, but unless you at a bare minimum vinyl wrap the rest to make it look a match, nearly anyone who isn't an enthusiast or "tuner" if you will, is going to see it as pure rice. With CF, the more you have, the better...

This is the closest I could find tasteful, and even this curls my toes bit:

I'd still prefer a uniform paintjob all over...

Finally got the link to open, wow those are sick! I think I will be getting a set... I might as well wait to put in the UK light up keyhole lights then when I get these  Also the price is $130 + shipping for the entire handle, $80 is just for the top or bottom.

I'm confident these fit since some of the mx-3 guys in the UK run the chrome upper part of door handle from a miata.

It's for a set... I'm just reading from the link in this thread  I'm sure they've sold alot to NB owners... CF ain't cheap man... You'd pay the same price for a rad cover, it not more. I think it's a fair price.

I thought the price was fair as well. Im glad a few people like them. Before i was going to paint my hood and was getting the sunroof and hatch garnish done in CF I was going to get these. A little CF here and there looks VERY nice.
