Interesting ways to kill a K8?

Post by Ryan »

I have a shredder bound 94 GS. It is rusty far beyond repair. I've salvaged everything useful. Engine burns more oil than gas.

I was thinking I'd fill it to the brim with used oil engine oil (I have 5 gallons, I hope that would be enough) and see what it does.

Either that or water.

Or rev limit it until it runs out of gas or boom. with or without coolant/oil?

sand in the intake, do before-and-after compression comparison.

Either way, I'd like to pull the front VC and video record the cams at rev limit. Lay a poly sheet around it so everything doesn't get splattered.

Any other ideas?

It would be fun to then re-build it as quick as I can with other laying-around engine bits (pistons, heads, block I guess too) and see if I can get it going again.

I know it's just a K8 but that sounds awfully wasteful.

how about some atf instead of oil. the friction modifiers should wear it down pretty quick at full throttle. or something flammable in the intake. sand would be cool but id try and explode the engine rather then just kill it.

I vote flamethrower. If you're blowing it up, do it in style...

Otherwise, throw your 218 cams in it, and slap it on a dyno. Rev it to 10K and see what she puts down. :freak:

Run a 125 shot of nitrous. Do cool experimental stuff.
Run pure alcohol or something. Change the spark plug order so it can sound like a V8.

I say do some useful experimentation. I don't know what that means.. maybe rev limit/ duration testing without changing the gas/ oil situation. It's been a long time since anyone has reported testing the limits of a K engine.
