What spark plug to use?

Post by JDMChris »

Canadian Tire doesn't list any spark plugs for the 96 v6..
For the 92-94 you can get NGK, which I think are the ones to go with..
After that is the 95 and they only list NASCAR Advantage ones for that year.. 96 isn't even listed..

Anyone know?

Same engine, same spark plug for all years. NGK or Denso were original equipment - either will work. Platinum or Iridium if you don't like to change your spark plugs often. Spark plugs on the K engine are easy to change so you could use copper if you don't mind changing spark plugs every 30K miles (48K km) or so. If you are modified (supercharged, turbo, nitrous) you could choose 1 step colder than is recommended OEM. Otherwise just use the recommended part # offered at the parts counter.

NGK BKR5E-11's

the tried and true plug. iridium/platinums have given people trouble... but I haven't tried them personally.

Sparks plugs are all the same for every year however O2 sensors are different just so you know. If you ever change those go to the V6 FAQ I put the part numbers for them there or you'll be paying $250 each at the Stealership.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
