Update: the time has come...

Post by Inodoro Pereyra »

Hello all.

The few of you who know me a little, know I don't like whiners, so this is not a complaint, just an announcement.

Over the last few years, my life in this country has become quite difficult. In the last 3 months or so, I have been able to stay here thanks to the goodness of a few friends, who let me stay at their homes. Today, the lady who has opened her house to me over the last 2 months has received an ultimatum from the neighborhood admins, so I have to leave.

That means that, having no job, and nowhere else to go, my only option is to get myself deported back to my country.

That, in turn, means many bad things, one of which is that I may not have access to a computer (and therefore to this forum) for a long time.

Sorry. For what it's worth, it's been a real pleasure being part of this family.

Sucks to hear Inodoro. I liked having you around, its always nice to have another clear (although hot) head on the forum.

I hope it works out better back 'home' than it did here.

Yes life is not for the faint of heart as I know you have learned. Get deported to Canada, at least you can speak English and that's more than I can say for most of the immigrants we get here. We know you were on borrowed time anyway and luck was definitely not on your side. Me thinks we have not heard the last of our opinionated Latin Lover. :P You'll be back, even if it's using one of those cheezie drooled on computers you find in those Internet Cafe's. All the best and don't ever give up. Dan

Hey, good idea.

How hard is it to immigrate to Canada?

Ryan I think your on to some thing. Inodoro, wrap a towel around your head and wear some kind of robe. Tell immigration your persecuted and seeking asylum here in Canada. Tell them you have telemarketing skills and say it in badly broken english so they can hardly understand you. You'd be a shoe in for sure.

Or you could move to California, here's an attorney who even looks like you. http://www.youtube.com/user/brianlerner?v=dcWPok971vI :P

If anyone thinks I'm kidding follow this link and go three posts down. http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... &start=345 Got Ya Inodoro :P

Sorry guys I didn't update earlier. I've been going crazy all day yesterday, trying to find a solution to all this.

Finally, after long and hard negotiations, I've got a small break: I can stay until the 31st. Not much, but better than nothing...

Yeah, pretty much.
When she rented, the administrators gave her authorization for her and her 4 kids. Now, if I don't leave, they're kicking her and her children out.
It's not that the neighborhood is kicking me out of the country. I just don't have anywhere to go, nor any money to go rent on my own, so the only option I have is to get out.

Dan: I can't emigrate to Canada. I have overstayed my welcome in the US, so, for all intents and purposes, I'm an illegal alien. They will only deport me to Argentina.

Either way, it's not all bad. If it comes to that, I'm going back to my country as a bartender graduated in Miami (which, as worthless as it is here, it's a huge deal in there) and bilingual (well, sorta ;)), so I should be able to get a good job very fast. The bad part is that all the projects I have here would go down the drain.

Anyway, now I have an extra week. I'll keep you guys posted. :D

Sorry to hear about this....wish I could help a bit. I kind of understand your pain as I'm also an immigrant. There's lots of good people that come from different countries to make better living. Too bad you can't get rid of bad people that leech off of s.s. system and sit on their a-- all day long doing nothing but watching tv or stealing. I hope things work out for you.

Thank you. I sure hope you're doing better than me...

I'm just back, after a really long day. So far, all I have are promises.
Let's see what happens tomorrow...

Ok, time for a little update.

A few things have changed since my last post in this thread. For starters, once the end of January drew near, all of a sudden, my friend decided to send the administrators to hell, and let me stay until the end of February, as previously promised. I have to say this lady has restored my faith in people, and then some.

Then, last Sunday I did a garage sale (some old tools and other stuff), which went surprisingly good. And, finally, today...

I'VE GOT A JOB!!! :2thumbsup: :2thumbsup:

Nothing really that special (minimum wage, working at a factory), but at least I will be able to rent a place, and keep looking for something better.

What can I say? Looks like you won't be getting rid of me that easily...
