VRIS Small vaccum hose broken?!

Post by evaunit360 »

So, after looking at my engine bay, I noticed that the VRIS solenoid in the back center of the engine has a broken hose and I was wondering where the hose starts and where it attaches so I can hook a new hose and get it working again.

The VRIS solenoids are under and behind the intake manifold. If the vacuum hosing isn't too decrepit and you can see both broken ends you might connect the broken ends with a T and cap. Otherwise you'll need to remove the intake manifold. That is a tedious job but the only way to replace all the vacuum tubing - or even get to the solenoids. You'll definitely want to print the diagram and use it as a guide.

Good luck with your fix.

I know the metal tubes coming off the actuators are easy to break so if it's the hose going to one of them be careful.
