Lower is also from your posture!! I am 6'6" so I know all to well about lower back pain in small cars! The seats in the 92-93 are good but I still get pain if I am in the car for more than a couple hour because of how I have to sit in the car to fit!!

Sounds like a little lower lumbar support is in order. Either strap a little pad to the lower portion of the back rest or repad the back. I wouldn't mind a little more support in my seats. I also suggest you do some core strengthening exercises.

why dont you try a 94+ seat from a junk yard? it would give you more head room and they are supposed to be more comfortable. or if you care that much you could find some nice seats off craigslist from another car and mod them to fit (welding skills required).

94 seats give a TINY bit more room... I have both a 92 and a 94 front seat in my '92 at the moment(don't ask...), and the 94+ seat is less supportive in the lumbar region. It IS far more comfortable for broad shouldered people, as the 92 seats won't even let my upper back touch the seat.

I might add that 94+ seats don't like to clear the shoulder belt in 92-93 cars, the seat rail may not clear the bracket for the belt rather. Not the belt itself...

Maybe I'm getting old or not used to driving, but about 2 hours (of 10) into my drive back home for Xmas, my lower back started to hurt, never happened before, used to almost live on the road, especially with my truck and my last job. I put i heated seat pads into the seats a few years ago, so I just cranked it, took off my thick winter jacket and let the pain melt away, feels great. But I never had an issue with the Mx-3 seats, even on 10-12 hours drives.

I've done ridiculously long road trips in both styles of seats and the 94 style are not as comfortable as the 92-93 IMHO... I've literally driven for days in the 92-93 including sleeping and I love them  :freak:
