Just bought an MX-3 for $500. It will be taken on the BABE Rally (http://www.baberally.com) and then to the 24 hours of Lemons (http://www.24hoursoflemons.com). I have done both of these events in the past.

It is a 93 GS 5-speed. Does not run (fuelling issue) and has been neglected. The driver's seat belt does not work and as I have seat belts lying around (for my TR6) I will stick these in temporarily. The paint has suffered from California sun, the interior has suffered through lack of care. Various bits of rubber have perished too.

I chose an MX-3 after watching one blitz everything at a recent 24 hours of Lemons in New Orleans, after spending most of the night attempting an engine swap on a Prelude - only to find out the transmission would not line up on our later engine.

I have owned a Miata in the past, in fact more than 40 cars in the U.K., the Middle East and the States. Cannot wait to get this thing running and have some fun. Currently have a 1973 Triumph TR6, 2010 Honda Pilot (which tows non-working MX-3s very well) and a 2011 Mercedes E350 Bluetec.

Love cars (though there are some brands I would not touch with a barge pole). Having said that, I will not be treating this one with kid gloves. It is in far from perfect condition so I think my plans are fitting.

Oh and I am a Limey living in Texas.
