Is there a rad upgrade for those of us running KL's in race conditions? I've had to throw laps before because I was overheating. I'm still running the stock K8 rad.

That's so weird to me, I've made 6+ hour trips averaging 85+ and never put the needle above halfway... both with a K8 and a ZE, my K8 seems to run hotter even. This last trip was in 90+ degree weather, which by the way was a bit warm for me...

Stock rad is fine. There is a post here about placing spacers (nuts) under the hood hinge bolts to allow for better airflow (cooling) of the engine compartment. The rear of the hood sits a little high allowing heat to exit from the top. Not sure how effective it is but hey it's a free mod so nothing to loose.

I've seen that... I'm debating it. I used to drive with the hood popped during break in, because it would overheat at stoplights. My oil temp gets to 240 just crusing, I can't imagine where it sits racing. I changed my oil because I'm pretty sure I wrecked it racing, and my oil pressure raised 5-10 PSI across the board....

Ok, take the one hose off the oil cooler. Run it to an external rad (small one like a tranny rad) then route it back to the oil cooler using much cooler coolant. Man I'm a frickin genius, Daninski Einstein.

MX-6 2.5l radiator is not a direct swap. I'm guessing you might be able to make it work. Direct fits that I have found include:
Spectra Copper Core SPICU1559
CSF radiator metal core CSF2082
Silla aluminum core silla7522
Performance radiator copper and brass core PFR1559CBR

Last I looked RockAuto did not have a direct fit, but maybe now they do. The ones above are listed at autopartswarehouse. I've had one good and one bad experience with apw. The bad experience is when / if you try to return.

Hey thanks guys i picked up the Mx-6 rad and it next to drop'ed right in, all the rad supports line up. Fans don't work because they inter-fear with my IC piping. The tank leveller is a wee bit close to my turbo but i cut some un-nesisary mounting plastic off and pulled it toward the front and it works. This is my temporary rad since i facked my beautiful all aluminium one up : ( All in all very doable.

Nice find !

I've also never had any issues with my radiator not being capable to cool enough.
Just another Mx3 freak :)
