PVC valve

Post by kstarb123 »

Hi, My car (1.6 auto) occasionally struggles to pick up revs and I've never been able to fix it, as mostly it's fine. Hovever I decided to check the PVC valve.

I noticed that the valve rattles (you can hear the ball bearing inside it when you shake it) and when I blow through it, sometimes the ball seats, blocking the air flow, and sometimes it doesn't.

Being as the valve sits almost horizontal, I'm wondering if there should be a spring inside to keep the ball seated and this might be my problem.

Does anyone know if the valve is supposed to rattle is you remove it from the car and shake it.
