plug wires question

So the other day my exhaust started to sputter and slight engine shaking at idle. I don't seem to have any power loss when accelerating, so im hoping it's not a
misfire. I checked my spark plugs and there are fine, changed them not long ago. BUT my spark plug wires i havent changed in 2 years xD so i decided to check them and all but
cyl #1 had a resistance lower than 6ohms about 4, some 3. Could this be the problem of my sputtering?? I am going to change them anyways but im just checking.

EDIT: right now i have ngk wires, so i don't know what the resistance is suppose to be. Also, when i say 6ohms, my meter is on 20k ohms.

They are measured in resistance/foot, and it will be in Kohms.

If you're on the 20k setting on your meter and it reads 6, that means 60kohms, which is reasonable for a 4' wire.

Okk, so mine are bad then, if they are under 6? Our wires seem to be 24", which i read 7-9 is a good reading.

16kohm/ft is stock spec.

anything greater than that is bad.

Find the resitance of the wire in Kohm, and then divide it by the length of the wire in feet, and that number should be less than 16k.

Minor correction, it would be 6k ohms not 60k on a 20k scale.. that would be deemed a bad wire, but if your wires are all in the 3-6k range they are good. My msd wires are like 850 ohms. I would suspect your sputter not coming from the wires but, I would check the boot ends and where they plug into the plug because mooneggs had a msd set that had a pinhole in it causing a bad sputter due to arching in the cylinder wall that a ohm check would not pick up.
