Swapping 180Km Gauge to 240km???
Im sure this is a stupid question, but if I replace my gauge cover which has a max of 180km with a custom cover which has a max 240km, will 60km (or any other speed) be accurate on the new cover??
I really hope this makes sense

Re: Swapping 180Km Gauge to 240km???
Well it depends on how the gauge is designed. But first
A. Why does your car have 180km gauge on it??
B. Why are you wanting to put a 240km gauge on it.. your car will top out at around 185km/h anyways. How often do you plan on traveling at these speeds?
We would have to see what the new gauge looks like and simply overlay it. As it's simply the physical location of the speed ticks. As long as they are the in the same locations you shouldn't have any problems.

Re: Swapping 180Km Gauge to 240km???
Its got a 180km gauge as it is a 94 DOHC Eunos Presso J-Spec 4cyl, It was imported to Papua New Guinea from japan in 1998, where I got it and send it back to australia when I left.
im aware that i won't need anything over 180ish, although i was likeing to look of the custom gauges, but the only ones that are available in Kms, are 240 as opposed to 180
I'll just have to find the one which looks like its in the same location.
Thanks for the heads up

Re: Swapping 180Km Gauge to 240km???
Hmm, that is a dilemma. Especially since you have a 4cyl and you have a cable driven cluster (IIRC). I am not sure if the DOHC cars have the able driven, but if they have an electronic one like the v6;s then you could get a usdm cluster and then put the gauge overlay on that.
If you have a cable driven cluster you need to get the speedo meter from a USDM car and swap it with the speedo motor that is currently on your tranny. The gearing int he USDM one will be slower to accommodate for the tighter gaps on the speedo

yes just swap the speedo drive from a A-spec tranny to your J-spec tranny and it will drive the new speedo at the correct ratio.
