The wify's MX-3. . .

Post by wheelhop »

I bought this car as a commuter car for her. . . But I've got a 13g turbo, dsm sidemount IC, high impedence injectors, walbro fuel pump, dsm bypass valve, intercooler piping, welder and flanges layng around. Along with that I have an lma-3 logging solution. I've got some plans (and picked out an fmu) that are already in production but first here's so picks of her. . .

It needs a bit of work. The wires to the head lights are mysteriously burned. Everything else works. . . The rear glass piece below the spoiler is broken out. And I'm going to attempt to repair the a/c. Fan comes on under the hood and in the car, engine rpms come up, but nothing cold blows out. . .

Factory yellow is head turner. Decent aftermarket wheels, rare-ish wheel guards, and thats a GS wing but the rest of the car screams RS: no holes in front bumper for lip, single outlet muffler, and ride height. It must have had at least one paint job in its life.

Not rusty from what I can see, looks like a good little car. Congrats.

If I were to guess, it's a SOHC. Not the best platform to boost. but probably a good size turbo for that engine for ok performance. Good luck.

Thanx all.

Yea it has the b6-me. And yep, it was painted by the previous owner. . .

The 13g turbo flows about 25lb/min. The little td04 hotside is nice with 1.6 d-series honda motors. So I figured it would be fine with this motor too. I just picked up one range colder ngk copper plugs today :2thumbsup: . Can't wait to get started on the nuts and bolts. . .

Should address body issues first before boosting

Interior is very dirty. . . But it is not ripped/cracked. . .I will try to get a few shots in tomorrow morning. . . There is not stereo  and the interior panels are all laying around the bay because of the issue with the wiring. . .

If I cared about pleasing others  . I'd rather walk quiet with a big stick. It's not meant to be perrty. I have much more on my plate with much more potent platforms than this car. See, here and here. But, it would be nice for there to be a little punch there when you use the air pedal. Thanks for the suggestion though :).

Touche :) . . .
Here's a pic of the interior. VERY VERY VERY dirty but not damaged too bad. The under dash pieces are all there laying around :)

Image

Here's my 240cc high Z injectors from an old nt to t dsm conversion. I will be coupling these with an fmu for enough fuel . . .

Image

Don't laugh at my welds. It held. This was a down pipe and o2housing combo from an old 3rd gen eclipse turbo swap that I did for a friend an while back. I plan on insserting the 13g in the engine bay the same way. and I'll be damned if the thing appears to almost line up perfect with the stock exhaust, considering where i plan on putting the turbo. Glad I kept this little piece of sh!t.

hey, just a note. You may want larger injectors than 240cc. Using RC's fuel injector calculator, with a BSFC of .60 you'll be limited to ~120 boosted hp (pending on tune). I do believe this number to be fairly low. But the expected gains will still be under 150hp.

As said, I will be coupling them to an fmu. The rising rate will make up the difference. if it is run at only 5:1 rising rate (fuel pressure to boost) at 10 psi I will be at 90 psi in the rail and minus the 10psi boost, the injecotrs will be at 83 psi. This comes out to about 330cc fuel flow (new flow = old flow X SQRT (new fuel pressure/old fuel pressure ).
