1. brownish green foam sludge in filler cap?
2. shudders but doesn't stall. happens once in a while at light intersections, turning, accelerating (sudden) and coming down mountian highways?
3. as u stand i front of the car, facing the engine there is a tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic sound on the left side?
Forgot
4.Backfires with hard accelerating, or sudden acceleration after intersection linked with number 2 I think

i replaced: battery, spark plug leads, pick up (its on the distributor), mass airflow sensor, coolant flush.

its not over heating.
i think the idle may be a bit high

thanks if anyone can help

Motor is likely screwed.

Your coolant is leaking into your oil. this is a head gasket, or cracked/warped head or block.

The tic tic tic is the friction gear spring. $20 and 4-6 hours of labor to fix that.

The shudder/stall is likely a vacuum issue. Not fatal or hard to fix.

Personally, I'd suggest a KLDE/KLZE swap instead of trying to fix the coolant problem. I hate coolant problems.

All hope is not lost...

Did you make an intro post? how are your mechanical skills? any access to tools? got lots of money?

All of those things help, but you're not screwed if you don't have any of them... cars honestly aren't too complicated, you can learn if you want to. This forum can provide bolt by bolt instructions if you need, but we pray you don't.

First and foremost, change your poor oil and see what condition your coolant overflow reservoir is in.

All good answers, except the last one! You should change your own oil any time you are able! Honestly, it's something many people(even some mechanics) don't like to do themselves. For the simplicity of it, and the savings(both short and longterm!) it is a big bang for your buck job. If you meant you will change it, my mistake! If not, free advice :) Either way, welcome!

I would in a heartbeat if I was in the area, my local JYs are MX-3 lacking... Mazda lacking period, there are under 50 Mazdas in the entire yard by my house, which is the largest pick n pull. :(
