Custom Angry Hatch Eyes (Taillights)

Post by Mooneggs »

So I recently visited WhiteFinish in the Netherlands. He showed me his car and I was blown away at the custom mod he has on his hatch! It's probably the coolest custom mod I have seen done to the mx-3 in some time... Angry eyes on the hood are getting to be the norm but Angry eyes on the hatch?! SICK! lol  :o

Of course the rest of his car is pretty nice as well... including squarebox exhaust tips...

I love the tails; I'm personally not a fan of it on the front end, but on the back that looks great!!!

never liked the angry look, only because it's not very clean. it's just very obvious that you're covering up a part that was not intended to be covered. just looks very incongruous to me, like the panels aren't lined up right and overlap. the lights need to be angry shaped in the first place and then the body modded to follow

I don't necessarily agree, but that's the application I've been thinking. ;)

If my idea looks good, you'll all see it when I post my worklog.

I see your point, but i've been thinking: If you also modded the front fender (i.e. got rid of the rubber strip and moulded something to take its place and line up a bit better), and ensured that the bit where the bumper meets hood all lined up perfectly and 'joined' like the rest of the panels do, I think it would look like it's meant to be that way. Obviously with the rear one that would be extremely hard, perhaps WhiteFinish has done it as best as it can be done? I cant see how I could improve it, anyway...
Plus, i reckon that everyone has their own way of doing stuff - purists who dont mod at all, conservative modders, moderate modders, DIY modders, people who mod to make the car look newer but still fairly stock, and heavy modders - and I love seeing the variety in cars that this produces!!

Thanks for the pictures mark.

I know not everybody likes my car. But, this is the way I build it and I try to be original with the tuning.

I'm very satisfied with the car and drive with a big smile on my face, that's the point right ;)

My comments were kind of ambiguous, but I want you to know I DO like your car!

Also, the owner's opinion is the only one that matters. The exception being fart can Hondas... I'm going to keep a rubber mallet and a sack of Spuds in my trunk so I can fix the Honda problem in my city. :)
