Built up Crate engines?

Post by MrMazda92 »

I'm having a hard time finding a reputable place to buy a KL-DE for under $600, and most of them are high miles stock engines.

Does anyone know of a place where I could order a DE that can be boosted to 15 PSI safely? That's the max I plan to boost it, so I won't be planning to up it any time soon.

I'd rather take the time to do this myself, but I'm having a hard time finding an engine to start with.

I'll check probetalk and mx6.com and other sites, but I don't hold out much hope for the immediate future.

You're just going to have to keep looking. I'm surprised that you can't find one cheap. Check the [FS] section. WagZE is selling a ZE. He's near Seattle.

Just buy a DE, boost it to 15psi on stock internals and when it blows up just buy another one. They're so cheap it doesnt really matter. Or buy two and build one on the side while you work on blowing the stock one up.
