Re: DE swap help.
K8 flywheel will be perfect, just make sure you machine it first if your doing a new clutch.
It doesn't matter if the motor is from a obdII car, its the same as the obdI motors, the only difference is that it will have one less coolant sensor on the filler neck. You can either swap coolant necks from ur k8 or you can remove ur extra sensor from your k8 and drill and tap into the coolant neck on the DE. If you don't install the extra sensor then your fans will be on all the time, that's it.
Use your k8 disty, alternator and all that as well. Just use the barebones de block and you will be ok

Re: DE swap help.
Use your K8 manifolds the De one is different to allow for the extra O2 sensors. If you car is a 92-93 and you need the extra coolant sensor just drill the flat on the DE coolant neck. It's real easy to do just use a shop vacd to suck out all the metal bits so they don't get down into your coolant system. If you press me I can come up with the tap size you'll need as well.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: DE swap help.
thanks for the help.
do i use the k8 harness or will i need to use de harness? if you have the tap size it will save me a little time. again, thanks.

Re: DE swap help.
The advice given is so you can use the K8 harness. This assumes you'll either reuse the K8 ecu and vaf or upgrade to a DE ecu and vaf. The ecu should be from an obd1 DE.

Re: DE swap help.
you cannot use the DE harness.
all ECU, VAF, and disties plug into both harness just fine, but disty wiring may change depending on your combination. use the wiring diagrams to make sure your disty signals are going to the right pins, and getting power in the right pins, etcvia wiring diagrams.

Re: DE swap help.
You have an OBDI mx, right?
your motor came from an OBDII car?
use your OBDI harness, and find an OBDI KL ECU and (OBDI if it matters) DE VAF, and keep your MX disty.
